Changes

The chicken on Sunday was a Success! None of us like coleslaw, so we just did the chicken and rice and I made a strawberry cake with vanilla frosting. Both the chicken and the cake were a hit, the chicken more, since the cake was just out of a box, but a yummy topper for a great dinner and a fun night. My little bro even made an appearance, which is very rare. It was so nice to see him and Maddi got a kick out of him too.

I am also super happy to announce I have a new friend! Yes, straight out of 1st grade announcement, “Mommy I have a friend.” So, here is the short of it: In March of 2010 I met a girl at a wedding of a mutual friend. She was pregnant, I had a 6 month old baby, she was nice, neither of us really knew anyone but our husbands there, we sat at the same table for dinner and had a great time hanging out. I friended her on Facebook so I could see pictures of her baby once he came. I love pregnant people and babies, what can I say. We have been Facebook friends for almost a year now, and she has a super cute baby boy. She is one of those effortlessly pretty girls. Like tiny and hot and hair and makeup and super nice too! She is a popular cheerleader and I am the looser who wanted to be a cheerleader but never was. And funny thing, she really was a cheerleader in college! Anywho, I asked and she said yes and now we are going to be fitness buddies. Or she will be mine I guess. She just started a blog about fitness and I am trying to get fit, great timing, so I asked if she would be my long distance fitness coach. She lives in another state now with her Army hubby. And she said yes! So, now I have the motivation to stop being fat and gross AND a person to help guide me and hold me accountable. I am so excited to see where this journey leads, to see the hot new body I will have one day.

My “Get Fit and Fab,” journey started on Monday Jan. 10th 2011. I walked 3 miles. Then last night, 1-11-11 I walked 2 miles. Tonight I plan to get some running action in. I want to run 1 mile without stopping, but I am not sure how that will go. The last time I ran a mile was in high school I think in P.E. and I hated every single step around the track with the stupid teacher cheering us on. It was a test, we had to do a timed mile in the beginning of the class and then at the end. So, I have no idea who my mile run will go, but if I can’t do a whole mile I figure I will do like half of one, and walk another 2.5 and then next week work on running the whole 1st mile, and so forth.
